Hello, everybody!

I’ve found something that’s just so cool: the air, as well as containing the oxygen we need to breathe, is also an excellent thermal insulator. Yeah, but why? It’s got low thermal conductivity. As a result, it reduces the amount of heat lost. To retain its heat, the air must be dry and still. Therefore you need to keep it in. Incredible, don’t you think? more…

“Oh deary me, I’ve made myself look a right fool again! Introducing a new item from Stratermic: the inflatable gilet. Well me, of course: “Components which float in water? But what’s that got to do with our thermal insulation promise? Does it float and protect you from the cold?” Well I must say, silly old me. In fact, it’s an inflatable gilet which keeps you warm! The supertech B’twin jacket comes with a built in Stratermic inflatable gilet. By means of a valve located in the collar, you can inflate and deflate it so as to get the right thermal insulation for your activity and your environment. Perforations allow the air to get through. Once inflated, this vest offers up to 19% added thermal insulation. Thankfully Stratermic is on hand to explain all this to me!

      Dear friends,

It is in the Stratermic laboratory that I, Professor Stratermos, carefully selected the component for the Forclaz 20 fleece, given its quality and resistance in all conditions.

Tested for up to 20 machine washes, the Forclaz 20 fleece keeps its thermal properties, and with no bobbling effect. more…

        Tests - research and development | 10 November 2010 | par : John Cold

        Hi guys!
My partners in crime Oscar and the professor from Stratermos introduced you to the little new number, the component from the fleece Forclaz 20 Quechua. Before making its selection, Stratermic tested it. No need to worry about the thermal properties, the new little number does the business. However, because it is lighter, Stratermic was a little bit sceptical: will customers actually feel its insulation qualities?
In October 2009, Stratermic carried out a survey. 233 customers in France, 170 in Italy and 160 in Spain, of all ages, men and women, hiking beginners or experts. At the shop entrances the intrepid customers tested 12 components. First by touching without seeing them. Then with an overall view of the fleece, by touching and its look. Outcome: The new little number from the range passed its entrance exam! Well done and welcome.
