Energy is in what you eat

The body and the cold | 3 June 2010 | par : Professeur stratermos

A burst of cold? Get out your knife and fork!

Your first reaction when it’s cold: put on your Stratermic fleece, hat and gloves. And another solution to round this off? Thanks to a good diet, the body is able to adapt to the cold.

First of all, it is important to guarantee your energy needs. These vary from one individual to another according to age, sex, environment, physical activity, etc. Build up an alimentary energy reserve thanks to carbohydrates. To do this, favour slow sugars from starchy foods: pasta, rice, potatoes, semolina, beans, etc.

With cold, the feeling of thirst disappears. The need to hydrate your body nevertheless remains the same. To compensate for hydric and mineral losses, drink at least 1 litre ½ of water per day. Choose a hot drink, like a herbal tea, to warm you up quickly.

Cover your energy and water needs using APTONIA sports bars, gels and drinks.
